THE FACTORY OF THE HOUSEWIFE

Acrylics on mirror

These works are made with a tehnique where I was putting paint on mirrors with my own lips. Basically are these mirrors covered by traces of my lips. I got inspiration from how I regard my artworks quite egoistically. Then could interpret this thought as "loving my own art" or as seen here "kissing my own art". Also could draw parallels how kissing your own reflection means that this person is sel admirer.

Kitchen towels painted with acrylics, water (which is mixed with acrylic and soap) and washing bowl

2014

My aim was to do an interactive work where everyone could feel themselves as a real housewife. I used for that a washing bowl to where I did put in some kitchen towels to soak in water. On every towel was painted some kind of image, which were showing different kind of views that a housewife could see during a day doing houseworks. The point was if someone wanted to see the paintings, they had put their hands in a bowl, grasp the paintings and hold them above the water. Then this person would look like a housewife. Furthermore the activity is giving an unusual nostalgic feeling and making you feel like washing clothes.
